Jesse is an incredibly upbeat, thorough, and kind trainer. I took her Intro to Exercise course while I've been recovering from an injury. It has been an amazing confidence booster and Jesse made the workouts so accessible but still challenging. The workouts slowly progressed in difficulty so there very few moments that I felt like I couldn't do, unless it directly conflicted with my recovering leg. Even then Jesse would work through an alternative for me and even come back the next week with more suggestions! She's also very understanding and not harsh at all. She wants you to achieve the goals you have in mind for fitness and you really feel supported.

I started training with Jesse and Bent Bar Fitness last summer (2019) as I was looking for accountability and professional guidance when it came to training for my military fitness tests. As someone who has always been quite athletic and driven I was struggling with motivation and wanted to see what a personal trainer and monetary investment in my goals could do for me. I could not be more THRILLED with the results. I am currently training with the local artillery unit and far exceeded all of my goals when it came to my military testing.
Jesse worked with me to develop attainable yet challenging goals each week, kept me accountable and positive at times when I wasn't progressing the way that I wanted to. She is extremely kind, genuine, encouraging and passionate and I am so lucky to call her a friend now. As a non-binary human who binds it was also lovely to have a trainer that understood and was part of the LGBTQ+ community and helped with postural corrections I needed due to binding that has made my back pain substantially better. Jesse also worked within my financial constraints as a student to find a balance that worked for both of us.
Whether you are looking to start enjoying regular exercise or you have specific high performance goals like I did, Jesse is educated, knowledgeable and a very fun trainer.

Jesse is an amazing trainer and an awesome person to work with.
I've been a client for nearing 2 years and have found the evolving fitness programs to be really well tailored to my needs. She keeps in mind injuries, my progress, and even takes the time to work in exercises that I find more fun. She also answers my (many) questions with a great depth of knowledge and good humour. I'm constantly challenged, and it's also really enjoyable.
I feel motivated both at the gym and away because Jesse takes the time to check in and provide resources, helping me to build good, sustainable habits. I also can't stress enough how welcoming an environment she creates - I feel comfortable, which helps me try new things and push myself. Also, laughter is a great additional core challenge to any workout!
I would recommend Jesse/Bent Bar Fitness to anyone, and, especially due to the supportive and positive motivation, I've found her particularly helpful for getting back into more targeted and rigorous exercise after a long break.

Jesse is amazing. She is communicative, flexible with hours, accommodating with basically anything, tailors workouts specifically to you and your goals, and motivates you to no end to push your limits.
Under the supervision of both Jesse and Sir Kingsley, her trusty floofy canine buisness partner, my workouts are not only just fun and challenging, but they make you feel at home and comfortable working out.
When I started out with Jesse at the beginning of summer 2021, I was just starting to get back into things after having 2 children under 2 and was scared of the gym setting but wasn't motivated enough to do at home workouts myself, especially with ADHD. I couldn't do a pushup, couldn't deadlift more than 25 pounds with my noodle legs, cardio was a nightmare, ab muscles were nonexistent, I didn't like the look or feel of my body, walking up my stairs made me out of breath, and with the dream of eventually joining the army reserves, I reached out, and thus began our journey.
Right off the bat, Jesse made me feel welcomed, and comfortable, and the more we started working out the stronger I got, the more confident I became, and started pushing my limits more and more.
You don't need to be afraid to be yourself around her, she listens to me talk absolute nonsense sometimes, and she will just vibes with it lmao (I tell so many random stories and forget what I'm doing, but she directs me back to the workout like a lost toddler in Walmart)
Coming to today, cardio is still a nightmare but it's a manageable nightmare, I'm so so close to doing a pushup on the ground, and can push through sticky spots, I can deadlift 135 pounds with ease, I can run up my stairs with little to no issue, I HAVE AB MUSCLES NOW, and I feel so comfortable and happy with how I look and feel.
I show up to workouts in my pajamas 9/10 times lol
Jesse will literally be your trainer, cheerleader, friend, and hype man. She's howled at me before many times before/ during a set 😂
As many people have stated, her positivity is infectious and keeps you coming back for more!
She meets you where you are at physically and mentally in the moment, and continuously builds you up gradually each session. I can say with complete solace that for the first time in my life, I actually enjoy working out alot!
Sir Kingsley also does a fantastic job. He supervises the events to ensure quality control and consistency. He has his own little office in the corner of the gym for with a comfortable chair, rug, whiteboard, and plants. He will also come over during an exercise either for pets, or for pets and for distraction tactics to let me know I gotta focus on the gains.
I cannot recommend Bent Bar Fitness enough! 1000/10

Jesse provides a quality workout every time while keeping a smile on everyone's faces! Her group classes are creative and challenging, she'll always provide adjustments for anyone who needs them, and her positivity is infectious! Her classes are very inclusive and body neutral which makes everyone feel comfortable in the space, plus they are outdoors which has helped greatly through the pandemic. Highly recommended. Jesse was recommended to me when I was looking for a personal trainer who is LGBTQ+ friendly. I have participated in her monthly walking challenges and also worked with her one-on-one. She is knowledgeable, understanding, and genuinely wants her clients to achieve their goals, at their own pace. She is personable, approachable, and creates a space that feels safe to discuss any obstacles keeping you from experiencing physical and mental wellbeing. I have never felt more comfortable with a trainer than I do with Jesse, I would highly recommend working with her to support your fitness and movement goals!

Jesse was an incredible trainer! This was my first experience hiring a personal trainer, and I'm so happy I found her. I was specifically looking for someone who worked outside of the confines of diet/weight loss culture. My main goal was just to feel good in my body, and to build strength. I had a few moments of falling back into the insidious narrative around body size and body ideals, and Jesse really gently brought me back to my initial goals that I shared with her - she reminded me that so much of our body size, shape, etc, is dependent on genetics and that spot training was a myth. I was so grateful that she helped remind me of my own values in this moment, and I quickly re-aligned myself with my intentions when starting the program. Jesse also is a very non-intimidating presence. I did all my sessions over zoom, and felt at ease with Jesse on the other side of the screen, in the comfort of my own home. Jesse held me accountable, and went the extra mile to check in with me during the week, with little inspirational tidbits that I appreciated. Jesse's workouts were also so accessible, and the workouts she created made me feel like I was not only getting a full body work out, but that I was moving my body in a way that was sustainable and functional. Jesse ensures that you are moving well, and building strength.
I recommend her for whatever part of your fitness journey you're on, 100%!!
